1----
Well cubs, I have been asked
by some of the other elders to write
down my experiances from before the change and after.
I will do my best
to do so. I will start my story a little before the change.
It was another quiet night at
home the night of the change. I had
been playing on my computer, chating with my friends
that I had made over
the last few months.
The apartment was quiet for
once, because my roomie was out on a
date again. Something I had sorta avoided lately. Instead,
I had been
spending a bit of my time on the internet, forgeting
about the world in
general while I could.
Well, I was leaning back in
my chair a little too far I guess, and fell
backwards. I must have hit my head fairly hard, because
I blacked out.
When I awoke, it was dark in
the room. Looking at the small
backlit clock on the wall, I could see I had been out
for well over five
hours. It was now very late and I decieded to head to
bed.
I checked my compter as I got
up, not bothering with the light. My
sever must have been down again, because my compter had
been
disconnected and I could not get it to recconect.
Oh well. I was heading to bed
anyways. I shut down the compter
and headed to my room, stoping off at the bathroom along
the way. I had
drank a full two liter of soda before I had been knocked
out, and it was
pressing my bladder pretty badly.
I hit the bathroom and went
to bed, all the while still in the dark. I
felt tired and hot, which was kinda unusual since it
was normaly kinda cold
in the apartment.
My sleep that night was fitful
and uncomfertable, and for some
reason my back near my butt kept hurting me whenever
I tried to sleep on
my back.
I woke late in the morning,
tired and still hot. Getting up, I noticed
some white cat type hair all over my bed.
Now, the last time I had checked,
we only had a small black cat that
was not sheding at this time of the year. Still mystified
over the hair, I
walked to the bathroom to take a cold shower and cool
off.
When I walked in, I got the
biggest shock of my life.
In the mirror staring back at
me was a feline face. The biggest
feature that showed was the fact that my head was now
covered in white
fur with the exception of a single black streak starting
above my left eye
and continueing down to the middle of my cheek.
I did a quick spot check and
found the rest of my body was the
same and covered in black rosetta's. A check behind me
revealed the
reason for the pain last night sleeping. A long tail
extended behind me, a
good four and a half feet in length.
I looked back at myself in the
mirror again, trying to figure out if I
was awake or not. Realization slowly dawned on me, and
I just couldn't
believe it.
I had turned into my online
character that I played. A snow leopard,
fur and all. The black strip on my face being something
that was a bit from
my old self, an old scar from a fight with barb wire
fence.
I ran my fingers, (Yep,
I still had fingers) down my face and neck,
running them through the fur there. It was an odd feeling,
sorta like
petting
my cat but feeling it from both ends.
After standing there for what
must have been a half hour, I went to
the kitchen to get something to eat. I pulled some lunch
meat out and
started munching on it straight from the package.
Holding the meat in one hand
(can't really call it a paw) I walked
over to my computer and started it up. I tried to connect
to the net, but
the
server was still down.
I hated that server, but it
was cheap. Sighing, I went and turned the
tv on, fliping throught the channels. Oddly, about half
the channels were
out. In place where there should have been news and such,
there was just
nothing, not even static or fuzz.
I was starting to really to
become weirded out now, and ran
outside.
The sun was shineing, the breeze
blowing. But there was not a
sound otherwise. No cars, engines, anything at all. I
could not see any
movement in the valley either.
I spooked. Running back inside
I grabed my keys and jumped on
my motorcycle. Starting it up I nearly fliped it, the
fur on my hands
causing
me to lose my grip on the clutch.
I raced around town, looking
for signs of life, any life. I found
nothing at first, only the occasional bird and dog. That
was, until I hit
the
indian reserve part of town.
The town I was in had a small
area set aside for indian housing.
And that is where I found the first signs of life.
